Memory section of enblocal.ini

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have been browsing through the enblocal.ini file and found the memory section:

[MEMORY]
//[KYO : Set SizeMb accordingly to VRAM + RAM - 2048 amounts, uGridsToLoad a/o Textures amount - 1024 / 1280 set for 3GB-4GB GPUs, 16-24 GB RAM, UGridsToLoad=5]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=true
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=768
VideoMemorySizeMb=4096

;Or VRAM + RAM - 2048 = 24576 + 4096 in my case so 26624
;Or a little below so 16384 + 4096 = 18432

It seems I am supposed to enter values specific to my computer but I don't quite understand what it means. I am sick of Skyrim crashing because my vram fills up, will correcting these entries help with that? I have 2gb vram+16gb ram.

Could someone help me out?

Thanks

So VideoMemorySize isn't the amount of VRam I have?

This is what the ENB tool said my memory section should be:

[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=true
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=512
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false

that's what I set mine as. I have a gtx 580 oc'd with 1.5gb ram.

According to the Skyrim Performance monitor Skyrim uses up almost 100% of it but my PC RAM is hardly being touched. Don't worry bout it too much :smile:

You can set it to 1024 or even 2048.

Actually, with Boris' new enbBoost settings " VideoMemorySizeMb=" corresponds to the amount of ram from your machine you want to use for video ram. I have 16gb of ram and a 3gb video card. My settings are:

[MEMORY]

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true

ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true

DisableDriverMemoryManager=false

EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false

DisablePreloadToVRAM=false

ReservedMemorySizeMb=512

VideoMemorySizeMb=8190

I also use ewi65's ini settings for multi-core cpus with a couple of tweaks of my own. These combined give me a ENB enabled stutter free game experience.

Where can I find those mutli-core settings? I'd like to give them a try.
